Lewis & Lucy’s Epic Lake Hope Elopement in Queenstown
Lewis and Lucy’s elopement at Lake Hope was the kind of day that dreams are made of. We kicked things off at the family home in Dalefield, where the air was filled with the delicious aroma of fresh-baked goods. Friends and family bustled around, prepping for the big day and the exciting helicopter ride ahead. The weather forecast wasn’t on our side, but we had a small window of opportunity earlier than planned, so everyone rallied to get ready in time for the helicopter.
We landed with the couple and their four close friends under the majestic Remarkables mountain range, right next to the shimmering Lake Hope. The ceremony was nothing short of perfect, even though it was a chilly day with snow blanketing the mountains and the lake glowing a bright blue in contrast. It was an intimate and beautiful elopement, and we managed to dodge the bad weather just in time.
Returning to the Dalefield home as the skies turned black and the rain began to pour, we transitioned into a cozy, relaxed evening. As evening guests arrived, we enjoyed a laid-back dinner with platters and pizzas, followed by a house party-style celebration. The night was filled with games, countless rounds of beer pong, and an abundance of laughter.
This day was exactly what Lewis and Lucy envisioned: a day filled with love, family, and friends in a relaxed and non-serious way. As a Queenstown wedding photographer, capturing these candid, heartfelt moments was a true joy. From the excitement of getting ready at the family home to the stunning ceremony at Lake Hope, and the fun-filled evening back at Dalefield, every moment was a testament to their unique love story. This Queenstown winter elopement perfectly showcased the beauty and charm of a snowy, intimate wedding.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that’s as special and personal as Lewis and Lucy’s, let’s make it happen. I’m here to capture every beautiful, unscripted moment of your Queenstown elopement.
